Tired baby

Madelyn and I were lucky to spend three weeks in Missouri with Brandon's family and we has a blast. Our time was filled mainly with playing and watching Madelyn, but we also enjoyed the above activites as well as going to a Kansas City Royal's game. Going on a Mormon walking tour of Independence, Shopping, Easter Egg Hunts, Spa Pedicures, Eating Authentic Kansas City BBQ (YUMMY), Shopping, Making cake pops, and overall having a fantastic time. Madelyn sure loves her "Nanna and Poppy" and misses them. I can't wait until we live closer to family, only a few more months.

So it was Brandon's birthday on Saturday and in order to help in my goal to become more domestic I wanted to make Brandon a fabulous cake. Well this is my attempt to be domestic, just go with it, lol. My sister Beth is a culinary art major so she helped me quite a bit and even answered my frantic questions up until the last minute. I could not have done it without her. So the cake is three layers, a brownie layer, a white cake and a dark chocolate layer all with chocolate buttercream frosting the middle. Of course I wanted to to look cute too so I put Pirouette cookies around the entire cake. The bow of course was my doing, I am a bow person. So please tolerate my attempt to be more domestic, ha ha.

We were lucky enough to have Brandon's family visiting from Missouri. It was so good to see them and be able to celebrate Brandon's birthday with them. Plus, it was someone else to help us eat the cake. I do not think Brandon and I could have (or should) have eaten this cake by ourselves!

I wanted to share our Family Christmas card this year but I wanted to wait until everyone received theirs so it would be a surprise. My friend Sarah King designed the card and we just love it
Brandon of course wanted to write our Christmas letter. A chance for him to use that English degree. Enjoy a little update of how 2010 was at the Hendrickson home.

We hope this Christmas and the New Year find you healthy, happy, and eagerly looking forward to the opportunities and memories to come. Here’s what we have been doing this past year:

Julie has had a wonderful year of change. She was able to terminate her full-time job at BYU when, on June 3, she became a mother. She’s since had the treasured opportunity of being a stay-at-home mom to raise Madelyn, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She has loved to focus more on things domestic, and less on job responsibilities, and she has expanded her culinary and decorating skill set. She was able to go home to North Dakota twice in the year to visit her family and bring along the newest grand-child. She occasionally offers her time as a consultant to her former BYU team, and she’s glad she no longer has to be on the team full-time.

Brandon took a semester off in January when he accepted a promotion as a banker. He loved the work, but saw that the hours made it increasingly difficult to graduate from college in a timely manner. So, he quit the bank altogether in August and has since been going to school full-time at BYU and taking heavy course loads. He has loved having his baby girl to play with after a long day of classes. He’s enjoyed having Matt and Garrett at BYU with him, and we’ve had lots of fun family moments. He is excited to graduate in December of 2011 and is then looking forward to raking in the big bucks, or just any plain bucks…we’ll take either!

Madelyn Lucy Hendrickson came to us on June 3. She is a wonderful, happy baby who loves to socialize (exchange radiant smiles and giggles) with anyone and everyone. She was informally awarded the title of “cutest baby in the ward,” which award we reluctantly  accepted! We love to play with her and make her laugh. We discovered she is mortally afraid of puppies, which quashes any future plans at this point to buy one. She spends her time conversing in baby talk and rolling around, exploring everything she can. We no longer put Christmas presents under the tree, because she rolled under the tree and opened some early! We love her and feel it such a blessing to be entrusted with her. We feel blessed to see her growing and developing healthily. We wish she wouldn’t grow so fast, though.

We love you all and miss you! We are thankful for the hope of the gospel and the Savior’s love that makes it all possible.

Happy Half Birthday Madelyn!

So it is official, today Madelyn is six months old. We are celebrating her half birthday by taking her to Toys'r'us and she gets to pick out a toy. This process happens by putting different toys in her hands and then whichever one she screams louder for she gets. Okay so that might sound funny but it has worked in the past, she is not spoiled or anything I promise. The sad thing is she does not even realize how spoiled she is yet, lol. At six months old she is rolling around everywhere! She is not crawling yet but she is definitley moving. She has started on solid food and she loves it and she also loves her sippy cup. She can hold it herself and she doesn't let it go very often. In the last few weeks she has even taken her pacifier and it havs been amazing. Sleeping through the night is still hit or miss, more misses, but we are still working on it. I don't mind though because everytime I go into her room at 3am she just gives me this melt your heart smile that makes it all worth it. We have enjoyed the last six months, more than I ever thought we would. She has been the best blessing for our marriage.

This is our morning fashion shoot. This cute outfit had been sitting in Madelyn's closet for a few months now and we have not worn it because it was too summery, so I had the idea to put a long sleeve onesie and leg warmers under it and ta da...it turned out way cute! So we had to have a fashion show this morning. As you can see from those smiles Madelyn loves it too :)

Maddie is eating rice cereal and she loves it! I can't believe how fast she is growing! We had a great Halloween in Fargo! Madelyn went as Raggedy Ann and her cousing Logan went as Ragedy Andy, and they were adorbale! We went to Trunk-or-Treat at the church on Friday night and Madelyn and her cousin Logan were definitely the hit of the night. We had multiple people come up to us and say, oh I heard about these costumes and I had to see them in person. And of course we are not bias when we say that we thought they were just adorable. The best part of the weekend, however, was when Brandon surprised and and showed up on Friday night to spend the weekend with us. We could not have asked for anything better than that. Maddie just loves her dad and there is no one that can get her to laugh as much as Brandon can. I also do not think that Brandon put her down the entire time. They are definitely stuck together like glue, those 2 are. We are still in Fargo until Friday and are just having a wonderful time!

So I can't believe that my baby is already 4 months old, time really does fly. She is such a happy baby and unless you are her uncle Brad she will go to everyone. (For some reason every time Brad holds her she screams like an evil clown is going to get her, lol). It has been quite funny to see them interact. Even when she is sleeping if Brad is around she will start screaming. Her sleeping has not gotten any better, in fact it has almost gotten worse. She has learned how to roll over and everytime she does it wakes her up. I am lucky if she sleeps for 4 hours in a row anymore, what happened to my baby who use to sleep 8 hours????? We purchased a Bumbo and it is the greatest invention ever, Maddie just loves it. She is also putting everything she can grab in her mouth, which has resulted in us being alot more careful in what we put in front of her. I am still working the football games but I sure miss my baby everytime I have to go. Brandon has progressed and she now has clothes on when I get home from work, now we just have to work on the matching clothes issue. Brandon dressed her this morning and I almost wanted to put a sign around her kneck that says "My Daddy dressed me today" so that everyone could understand the choice of clothes, lol. I can't complain at least she was wearing clothes this time :) Life is still good at the Hendrickson's. Enjoy the pictures our precious HAPPY baby.

This has become my new favorite picture for a lot of reasons. First it shows my happy baby, and who could ask for more than that? She is really happy and spends the majority of her day just smiling and now laughing. Except when you put her in her carseat but that is a whole different story. Second, it shows her chubby cheeks. She is definitely a well fed baby and I just love her little baby rolls. Third, it shows how much her mom and dad love her. Raising a child is best when it is done by a man and a woman and this picture shows me how idylic that scenario really is. So enjoy my new favorite picture!

Future in the FBI?????

So I have decided that I have a future in the FBI. Let me explain. On Monday I went grocery shopping with Maddie. I carried a load of groceries and Maddie up to the apartment, put away the groceries and got Maddie out of her car seat and put her on the couch. because I knew I would only be gone for less than a minute. I then went down to get the last load of groceries from the car. Since I was leaving just to be extra safe I locked the door behind me. So I ran down to the car and grabbed the groceries and came back up the apartment. When I put the key in the door (We have an electronic key that has a chip in it, you put in the chip key in the slot and it causes the dead bolt to move to open, but a little background info). Well I put the key in and the door does not open. This has happened a few times before but I have always been able to get in within 2-3 minutes top. I spent almost 15 minutes trying to get in, I was frantic. At this point I can hear Maddie crying on the couch and I just could not get in! So I run to the clubhouse and I am ticked off at this point (understatement) and there is a huge line of people at the clubhouse because alot of students are moving in. I walk up the front of the line, interrupt the worker and say " I have an emergency, I have been trying to get into my apartment for almost 20 minutes and my 9 week old baby is inside, you need to fix it now. Let's just say he jumped up grabbed my key and pretty much ran to get me another one, He could see the look of death on my face. So he got me a new key and told me to let him know if it did not work. I was thinking to myself, oh trust me you will be hearing about it. So I run back to apartment and try the new key and it still does not work! At this point I can hear Maddie screaming through the door. I then proceed to break the door down. Yes, I literally broke the door in. Hence the reason I think I could now work for the FBI. Let's just say the damage was pretty bad. They had to pretty much replace the entire door. It turns out the battery of the deadbolt was broken. I was pretty proud of myself that I was able to break down the door, but with adrenaline and my screaming baby on the other end, the door did not stand a chance. It was a choice reunion when I got in. I did make Brandon call and tell out apartment complex what happened and to let them know they would be paying for the damages. Which they did. They sent someone over to fix it and we had a note saying it was worth then the thought and they would be replacing everything in the morning. It took the guy over 4 hours to fix everything. I was not kidding when I said I broke the door down.

Our last month

We have had a great last month, but it has been busy.Madelyn was blessed on July 4th and we were so blessed to have all of Brandon's family and my parents and Rachel share in that special day with us. Madelyn is now seven weeks old day! Where did the time go! She just grew out of her newborn clothes and is in 0-3 months and moved up a diaper size to size 1. Madelyn and I just got back from visiting my family in Fargo for two weeks and we loved being with her cousins Landon and Baby Logan who is only seven weeks older than her. Brandon also flew out to be with us for a few days and Brandon being like he is managed to get us $1200 in free tickets by getting bumped. I am actually pretty excited because we have some plane tickets to buy in the upcoming months and who does not like free tickets? Madelyn is growing and growing and eating and eating. She still does not like to be put down at all and likes to be held 24/7 but it seems like it is getting better. She went in her swing for 20 minutes this morning which is huge! When I was out in Fargo I bought a sling so that I can "hold" her and still have my hands free. It has been working pretty good so far. We just got Maddie's new born pictures back and I will share them now along with some other pictures from the last month.

Our little baby girl is only 10 days old, but there are still alot of things we have learned about her:

She hates to sleep on her back. We have to put her on her boppy in the bassinet otherwise she would never go to bed.
She loves taking naps with daddy, I swear that is the most content I see her when she is sleeping.
Mommy calls her little love and daddy calls her princess.
She stretches alot just like her daddy, it is so cute to watch her move her little body like that.
She hates having her diaper changed, you would think you were torturing her the way she screams. However, mommy likes changing her diaper because then she can comfort her afterwards.
She does not like to be put down at all for any reason, even to sleep. There have been a few nights I have ended up on the couch just holding her so that she could sleep.
She is definitely a Hendrickson baby and looks like her daddy. Go figure.
She is such a good eater, she could eat and eat and eat. We are happy she eats so well and that she continues to get bigger.
She has a thing about peeing on daddy about everytime when he changes her, I can't help but laugh. It has only happened to me once, but we have stopped counting with how many times it has happened to Brandon.
She has very feminine features, we just think she is adorable.
She is a very loved baby.

Welcome to the World Madelyn

I realize that Madelyn is now five days old and I should have posted sooner, but I am just now getting to posting. Sorry :) Madelyn Lucy Hendrickson was born on June 3rd at 4:23pm and weighed 7 lbs 13 ounces. We went into the hospital at 5:00am on Thursday where they started me on pictocin to get my contractions started reguarly. My doctor came at 6:45am to break my water which really got the contractions going. It was about 8:00am when I decided I was ready for my epidural. My nurse said I was progressing enough and that she would call the anesthelogist and we could get that started. I knew I wanted an epidural and after having some pretty hard contractions, I was definitely ready. Unfortunatley, there were mutiple girls laboring at the same time and I had to wait until 9:45am to get the epidural. Waiting was not fun! But by 10am I was feeling pretty great and even slept for an hour. My favorite part was Brandon telling me I was having a contraction while I was just relaxing. I progressed about a cm an hour from there on out. When I was about a 6 the nurse came and checked me and said that she was face up, not face down like she was suppose to be. We hoped that by the time I was a ten she would have turned herself. She eventually came most of the way but did need a little help with the remaining little turn. By 2pm I was a full ten and ready to push. Even though I had an epidural, I had really bad back pain. It was almost worse then the contractions in the morning. It was how Madelyn was laying that was causing me the back pain. My nurse said that maybe pushing would help and since I was ready that we should do that. I was more than ready to start pushing :) I pushed for about 3 hours, that was quite tiring and honestly I was not prepared for how long it would take, but I was able to make it through. Our doctor was called and she was born at 4:23pm. It was an amazing experience when they placed her on my belly. All I could see was her big cone shaped head. Everyone said she was perfect except for her cone head. I begged to differ, that was one of my favorite parts, I worked hard to produce that cone head and I thought it was perfect. When she was born, I heard the nurse say "Doctor there is a true knot in the cord" I was not sure what that meant but I could tell from the tone of the nurse that it was serious. I am not sure what the doctor did but he took care of it right away. After the nurse came and talked to us and said it is rare that there is a complete knot in the umbilical cord and it can be quite serious and even fatal, but thankfully it turned out just fine and there was nothing to be concered about. It has been great having a little baby and I feel so blessed that everything went so well. Enjoy the pictures!

Bassinet

My co-worker at work offered to let us use her bassinet. We of course were thrilled because it fits perfect in our small apartment. Not only that but is it gorgeous. So now Madelyn will be able to be right next to me in bed and she can be moved around the whole apartment. We went and got our last minute items we needed yesterday so I think we are finally "ready" Or as ready as we are going to be. We went to the doctor on Monday and we are 3cm adn 80% efface. So me not knowing exactly how much longer that means asked so do you think about 2 weeks? Our doctor says that he would be absolutely shocked if I make it 2 weeks. He said it could be any time, she is down and in the right position for delivery so he said just be prepared anytime. I have been having contractions throughout the last few days, but none that seem to be progressing towards anything. Deep down I still think it is going to be late next week, but we will see. :)

So my Saturday consisted of making these bows and flowers ready to be put on headbands. I have been looking for good deals now for quite a few months now. My dad actually found me a great website (littlegirlmart.com). I have since made 3 orders of "stuff". By the 3rd order Brandon asked if these things were really necesary. Of course they are! It was fun to be able to put all of my purchases together today to see the final products. Now we are still waiting for her arrival to try them out :)

Baby Bump and Finished Car seat Cover

This is the finished car seat cover with fabric buttons. I think it turned out cute! Now I am just excited to actually use it!

I took this picture for my little sister last week, this is me 35 weeks pregnant. The funny thing is I am even bigger than that now. (I know hard to believe but it is true). I tried to get good lighting, but it did not work. Oh, well, hopefully the next picture will turn out better.

Car Seat Cover

So I am not a crafty person....at all. So this is why I am so proud of my car seat cover. I saw these super cheap car seat covers at the mall for $50 and thought, there is no way I am going to pay that much. So I did a little research and with the help of Brandon's cousin, Charlyn, found a tutorial on how to make them. It was even iditiot prooof because it showed pictures. And the best part, all of the material only cost $12. I am still going to put cute little fabric flower on the two velcro pieces, I just need to get a few more items before I tackle that part. I am not goin go to lie, I did have this as the center of my living room all weekend so that I could admire it. Hopefully this is the start to a more crafty Julie. Just had to share my little project. Madelyn is going to love it :)

High Five

I went to the doctor today and was kind of nervous because I thought I had gained alot of weight in the past two weeks and I knew the nurse was going to say something to me. Instead, I got a huge high five. I had lost a pound in the last two weeks, which bring my grand total up to only 2 pounds! I am 32 weeks pregnant and only 2 lbs heavier. What makes it so much better is that the baby is healthy and there is no problems there. I was feeling pretty good about myself, all of those guilty feelings for having 2 cupcakes yesterday has gone away :)

70 Days and Counting.....

We are down to only 70 days, which equates to 10 weeks or 2 1/2 months. Alot of different ways to look at it. We now have the crib, car seat, stroller, bouncer, swing and enough clothes to last her for the first year. I have a feeling she is never going to be in need of want of anything. But she will be dressed cute, there is not doubt about that. I am still doing pretty good, even though the bigger I get the more uncomfortable is it is do just basic things like get out of cars. Who would know that something so simple could be so troubling? Of course I have a million things I want to get accomplished before she comes like do the many projects I have bought material for and never started. I guess it is a good thing that 10 weeks is a long time :)

Old House

I know I have been a complete slacker in keeping this blog updated. I will honestly try to do better. I wanted to post a picture and the only one I had available at work is our new family picture, so I thought that would work. We got a great time in Kansas City for Brandon's birthday. We loved visiting the Hendrickson's and wish we could have stayed longer. I only have 3 more basketball games left and we are really looking forward to those being over. Brandon starts his new job as a banker on Tuesday and we are both excited for that oppurtunity (and the increased income) that comes with that. I am 24 weeks pregnant, so only 16 more to go. I wish those weeks would come sooner. We can't wait for little Madelyn to join our family. Life is good for us :)

Happy Second Anniversary

It is crazy to think that this time two years ago we were in Nauvoo getting married. The last two years have been the best of my life, there have been ups and downs but we have always prevailed. We have really excited for all the changes happening in our life, mainly the oppurtunity that we have to become parents in June. I am especially grateful to have been married in the temple. Our marriage would not be the same with out those coventants. Hope the upcoming year is just as marvelous!

What no pictures

So I don't want anyone to think I have ignored posting pictures because that is not true. You see you need Internet to post pictures and that is something that we are lacking right now and to be honest i don't think we will get it because we have access to computers all the time at work and school. The last thing I want to do when I get home is even look at my computer, so alas, no pictures. I need to go to the library in order to do that, it will happen, sometime. Our apartment is starting to look more like a home with pictures getting hung up. Brandon starts school next Monday! I can't believe our break will be over. Football starts in less than a month, I am not sure I am ready for that madness yet, but we will see. We are enjoying life. The most exciting thing to post is that we will be getting a new niece/newphew in April! I could not be more excited. I love Landon and another one will be even better. Ta ta for now!

Back to Reality

We got back from our vacation on Sunday night late (thanks Garrett for being us up at the airport at midnight) after spending 12 hours in the Los Angeles airport. We were hoping to get back alot earlier than midnight, but alas it did not happen. Instead of telling you detailed information about our vacation i decided to break it down into highlight and lowlights-so here it goes!

Highlights

California- Loved Santa Monica beach and our amazing 2 story hotel room that we stayed out (Thanks mom and dad Hendrickson for getting that for us)
The sun- loved basking in the sun all week
Playing in the ocean
Relaxing- I got through 2 books-that is my idea of a vacation
The amazing food on the boat
Snorkeling in Cabo
Trolley tour in Mazatlan
Zip line in Puerto Viarta (sp?)- Amazing! 12 zip lines in the jungle, some 2,000 feet long! Then riding the donkey/horse up the moutain back to the resort.
Dancing-Yep i made Brandon go dancing with me and he enjoyed it (well for maybe 20 minutes)
Being with Brandon 24/7 all week
Not having to work
The amazing entertainment on the ship. We saw jugglers, magicians, comedians, all of which were appropriate and family friendly.
Ice skating on the cruise ship-Seriously who can say they have ice skated on the ocean.
Everyone asking us if we were on our honeymoon. Hopefully it was because they saw how in love we are still :)

Low lights

Losing the snorkeling gear in Cabo and having to replace it :(

So you might be asking yourself, so why don't you have any pictures. I do have pictures, I just don't seem to have the cord to the camera that hooks to the computer that downloads the pictures. So I will have to post them later once we finally get the box unpacked that has the camera cord in it. (Yes unfortunatley, we are still unpacking boxes).

4th of July

It was a crazy fourth of July 4th for us. We started out by Brandon running the 5k for the freedom festival. He did such a good job, it was fun to be able to watch him. The problem was finding him after the race. I think I walked as much as Brandon ran just trying to find him! Then Brandon and I went to watch the Grand Parade, we were joined by Matt and 2 of his friends and enjoyed the fun parade. Then I went home and slept before going to work at the Stadium of Fire. It was successfull, I got to meet the Jonas brothers a few times (and I think my hears are still ringing from all of the screaming girls!) The bad thing was I did not get out of there until 5am, which caused for a late morning the next day. I still think I am catching up on sleep. I am looking forward to having tommorrow off to get some important things done, like getting my hair colored, facial and eye brow waxing. We are now just preparing for your cruise, which is going to be so much fun! I think I have Brandon shopped out, but he was great and went with me to quite a few stores over the course of the week to find basic beach essentials like sandals, sunscreen, shorts and a sundress. Now of course, we only have to finish unpacking all of our boxes, but that is another post.....

Vacation Time

So we finally decided on a vacation! We are taking a 7 day Mexican cruise. We are leaving on July 18th and returning on the 26th. We leave from Los Angeles and then stop in 3 ports. It will be perfect for relaxing right after all the madness of Stadium of Fire is over. The cruise ship has an ice skating rink, theatre and lots of other fun things that we are looking forward to doing. Now, i just have to survive Stadium of Fire first!

We are slowly getting moved into our new place. It has not been the funnest living in 2 different places for the last week but we will have everything moved in this weekend, just in time for Brandon's family to come bring out his younger brother to BYU. We are looking forward to seeing them and having them stay with us. I will post pictures of our new place as soon as we get moved it completely!

Vacation Ideas

I have been reminded multiple times over the last few weeks that I need to post something. Well doesn't posting something mean that you have done something exciting worth posting? :) It seems like I work and Brandon studies. Hopefully there will be some exciting things to follow. We are wanted to go on vacation in the next few weeks after Stadium of Fire and before the football madness comes. But we can't decide on where or what we should do. I would love to go on a cruise and just relax on the beach, but that is alot of money. There are Alaskan cruises for really cheap...but I want the beach. Brandon would be happy doing pretty much anything but i think he would really like to go camping somewhere for a few days. Does anyone have any fun vacation suggestions?

This is what we went snorkeling in. It was lots of fun, but kind of crowded with the scuba divers.

I can't believe it has been a month since I posted. Time flies I guess. We have had a great last month, the highlight was going up to Rexburg for Beth's wedding. It was very special to go through the temple with her and the sealing was very special and beautiful. Brandon and I then came back and went to Midway and stayed at a cute resort for the weekend. We loved swimming in the crater they had there, not something you do everyday. Then I had to endure 2 weeks of crazy hours at work. The worst being Women's Conference, know I can say I understand the madness. On Thursday I worked from 5am until 2am and then had to do it all again the next day. I am still catching up on sleep from my 100 hour work week, but I will enjoy that check when it comes! Brandon has started Spring semester and is taking an accounting class and starting his English program.

Okay..So I just had surgery on Friday and this was on Saturday, which is why I look icky :)

My eyes are closed, but my new hair color and I got bangs...We went and fed the ducks between Conference sessions and has a blast!

So this is what happened after I got the IV, my whole hand bruised and hurt to the touch, it is better now but I could not believe that an IV could do so much damage :)

So I found my camera cord to connec to the computer so I could download pictures, it was in the sock drawer of all places. Here are the pictures I promised. Overall a great last 2 weeks, except for the sickness and such. Making Easter Eggs and feeding the birds tons of fun!

So I can not seem to find the cord to the camera so no pictures yet but hopefully i will find it soon. We had a great weekend this last week with Beth and Alan coming down to visit. It will be the last time we see them before they get married, crazy, I can't believe my little sister is getting married! We had a ton of fun dyeing Easter eggs and then making Deviled Eggs. We even convinced the boys to make one. So after being in bed all weekend recovering I got a cold so it seems like this last week has been a blur. I have got alot of sleep, or at least tried to get alot of sleep. Hopefully by this weekend I will be as good as new and ready to watch Conference. Ta Ta for now.

The last month

So I guess I have slacking with this whole blog thing. Our Internet was down for a few weeks and that makes a difference. I am happy to report that the BYU Basketball season is over and I survived DanceSport, I had to hire a few more employees but everything is looking good now. My next big focus is Women's Conference, I will need to hire around 60-80 students for that and will need to start in the next 2 weeks. Sometimes it seems like my job never ends, but I am pushing through. Brandon is still going to school, only a few more weeks in the semester until the Spring term starts. My parents came to visit us on the 16th and 17th of March, it was alot of fun having them around, the highlight of that trip was riding the train up to Salt Lake going to an IMAX movie and then hitting a Jazz game. It was sad when they had to leave, but someone has to help Beth with the wedding :) I will have to post some pictures soon!

I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! We enjoyed quite a bit of snow and Brandon had to work until 6, but we did not let that ruin our fun! I cooked a very gourmet dinner of shrimp and mushroom alfredo and made Brandon a homemade card that was so much fun to make.
I really need to get more supplies so I can start scrapbooking again. And then to top off our night we went country dancing with some friends. What a great Valentines day!

Scary Onions

So Brandon decided to cook our dinner tonight, which of course I thought was a great idea. He decided to make a crockpot dinner, not too hard right? That was of course until I heard loud screaming coming from the kitchen because he found the onions, the scary onions. As you can hopefully see from the picture our onions were sprouting arms and legs and could have attacked me. Luckily Brandon disposed of the onions before too much harm was done.

Superbowl and Birthday and Dresses

So it is a tradition at my house that every year we have a Superbowl party. I decided that I would do that same thing this year, and it turned out to be a blast. We had about 9-10 people show up for the party and we cheered the Steelers on to Victory (even though not everyone was cheering for the Steelers :)) This is a tradition I will continue each year.

I also got to go wedding dress shopping with Beth, which turned out to be so much fun. I love wedding dress shopping and this one did not disappoint. We ended up getting a beautiful dress that day. She is getting married on April 24th in Rexburg and we can't wait to have Alan join our family. They are very cute together. Congratualtions guys! (I promise to post pictures soon)

Brandon's birthday was on the 5th and we had big plans to go out to eat, which were interrupted when we spent almost 4 hours finishing his Math assignment before it was due. Kind of a frustrating time, but we were together doing it so it was enjoyable, plus he got a 100% on it, so that made it all the better. We will do something fun this weekend to make up for it. I ended up making him a very fun piano themed cake (which the help of Melanie and her culinary art roomate) that turned out so cute. I was thrilled, and Brandon was very surprised. So overall it was a great day.

Updates

So I did creat a blog, now I just have to become a blogger with regular updates. Sheesh I bought a camera so I could take pictures to post to my blog and yet sadness the camera is still unopened. I will need to do better about this. Life is good for us, I recently got to take a trip to Minneapolis to visit some really good friends from High School and had a blast going to the Mall of America. My favorite of course was playing with my Nephew Landon, I love watching him throw tantrums, his parents didn't like that too much. I let him walk on the treadmill at home for 10 minutes, he loved it! Turns out he is suppose to stay off of the treadmill...woops! Brandon is just going to school and working, so it seems like we hardly every get to see each other. We try to do lunch together has often as possible so we can actually see each other through the day. I can to class with him whenever I can, isn't that sad that you have to go to a class to see you husband.
